Spaceflight Aesthetics

Apollo 11

One thing which I’ve always admired about NASA is their attention to aesthetics. They pay good attention to graphic design – as well they should, given that many of their major achievements have gone down in history. And let’s face it, their logo insignia is instantly recognisable anywhere.

The images here may not be as well known, but I think they’re marvellous! These are cover images from old NASA documents dating back to the early days of human spaceflight. While I make no attempt to hide my penchant for retro space graphics, I think these are all absolutely gorgeous!

All images, obviously, are credited to NASA – and with a customary tip of the hat to For All Mankind.
