The Catacombs

Suspicions confirmed. Underneath the science library on campus is a huge great room filled with all sorts of journals, theses and dissertations from years gone by. I had to venture into this place looking for an old copy of J. Phys. Chem. Actually, it’s more than slightly intimidating having decades worth of science, engineering and philosophy looming over you. There are even some old Soviet journals in there!

That, and big rooms with dramatic lighting and lots of books make me a little nervous since that Doctor Who episode a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if the main library has a big archive store room too…

Haha! I’d love to say yes, but I don’t think the library staff would be too pleased — though I could definitely find out some more info for you… :)

  7. Ooh. Old Soviet journals? Can I borrow some? I’ve been needing a few of the older Soviet articles recently for my research!
